Determine the winding of the spring coil. Does it open to the right or the left? Measure the inside diameter of the spring. Make sure to measure directly across the center of the spring as shown below. Find the Correct wire size.
Using the chart to the left count 10 to 20 coils from your broken spring then measure the size of the 10 or 20 coils that you just counted. refer to the chart on the left to find the correct wire size. Finally, measure the entire length of the broken spring from one end of the spring to the other. Do not measure the cones on the end. |
